Ganderbal, Sep 08 (KNO): The residents of Kullan and Gagangeer of Gund Tehsil here urged the J&K Bank to provide ATMs in their areas, saying they have to travel more than 20 kilometres to withdraw money. The residents told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that they don't have a single ATM from Gagangeer to Kullan which houses thousands of people. “One of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank branches is located at Gund and another at Kangan. Both are 15 to 20 kilometres away from our areas,” said a youth, adding, “The ATM at Gund also remains defunct for most of the time.” The locals said there is a dire need for an ATM in their areas. The traders of the area said they are facing a lot of difficulties without having a bank and an ATM here. “Sometimes our business is affected due to the non-availability of the bank and ATM,” said Abdul Aziz, a provisional store owner. The residents of Kullan and Gagangeer have appealed to the J&K Bank MD & CEO to personally look into their “genuine” demand—(KNO)
